Ahoy there, Matey!

Can I just say right here and now how much I just love the nautical trend?! And not just the navy/stripe theme that's the focus of our looks today, but the whole theme.  I have lots of nautical stripes but I also love my anchor sweaters and sweatshirts!  Check out a few of my nautical looks on insta!

Now that I got that outta the way, on with the show.  So excited my Canadian soulmate Nicole chose this week's striped look.

I've  showcased my stripes a bunch of times on the blog, so I thought I'd pick a favorite of those looks for my Style Perspectives today!  This is one of my favorites, and I put it together when I participated in last summer's Create 28 with Whitney and Carrie.  I am so glad that Create 28 has made it's way to The Blended Blog.  We hope you'll join us for Create 28 this June as we once again create looks around super fun summer prompts. I put this outfit together for what I think was the baseball prompt.
This striped dress from last summer is so super easy to just throw on.  It will once again be in heavy rotation this summer.  As will my beloved denim vest.  My trend impulse buy that I totally wore the heck out of!  So glad I hopped on the denim vest train.    I thought this was super fun and sporty and fun for summer and wanted to share it with you all again.  Complete with my red sox cap to help keep the sun away!!

And my cons keep it comfy too!!

I wore this dress from Spring all the way into the fall!  Check out more of how I styled it here!   Now that I'm looking at this I guess it's more sporty than nautical...but stripes, it is! LOL

And here's a round-up of last week's graduation dresses.  I kinda loved seeing us all dressed up and fancy!!

14 bloggers each picked a look that defined their personal style.

A Graduation Look!

Back for another round of Style Perspectives with The ladies of The Blended Blog! So hard to believe we are almost through all the looks! (Check out all my takes on the prompts {here}). This week’s prompt is a graduation look courtesy of Sheila, whose son just had his home school graduation this past weekend.  A big congrats to him!  And wait til you see Sheila! She looked beautiful!!

Being a teacher, it’s required that we go to the 8th  grade graduation ceremony each June.   It’s in the evening and in the church, so each year I wear a dress...which, I’m not gonna lie, is rare for me on the daily! But I like dressing up!

This year, I think I plan on wearing  the same thing I wore to my cousin’s wedding this weekend. (As long as the weather cooperates!  This 50° in May baloney is just plain crazy!!) Being in a church though, I’ll be wearing a trusty cardigan with it as well. Most likely a cream colored ¾  sleeve one! So my shoulders are covered!

This was the perfect dress for a wedding in a barn, in the mountains of North Carolina! Where it was 75° and beautiful out! It's simple but I was able to jazz it up with some fun jewels and funky wedges, which truth be told didn't last long!

Before I head out take a peek at at recap of last week's super fun look on all the Blended Bloggers.

Don't forget to link up your graduation look with us this week!! No blog? No problem. Hashtag a graduation/dressy look on insta and across all social media using #theblendedblogstyle!

Style Perspectives Wednesday

Back at it for another Wednesday Style Perspectives!  Thanks everyone for linking up last week with your leggings looks!  I had fun with it and like seeing how all the leggings were styled!  So glad I was able to get some of my Blended Blogger buddies out of their comfort zones!

Carrie's up today with her look.  And I gotta say...I'm excited!  When I saw that is was a jeans, tee, blazer and sneaker look, I knew exactly what I'd wear.  I am a cardi girl through and through but over the last year or two, I've very much embraced the blazer.    So here's my take on the look...

Plaid, plaid and more plaid!

How quickly Wednesday rolls around!  Always look forward to Style Perspectives Wednesdays with my bloggy besties, the ladies of The Blended Blog!  Each week the Style Perspectives link-up is growing and we love that.  Ladies from all over the globe are linking up their posts with us, tagging their pics with our hashtag #theblendedblogstyle and giving our link up some shout-outs.  Last week's graphic tee looks were a hit and this week's plaid look, courtesy of Alison, is sure to be the same.

Not too long ago, I dedicated an entire post to my love of plaid! {here!} Some people think my love of plaid is a little overboard (we're not friends anymore...I don't need that kind of negativity in my life! HA!!)  Plaid is just so versatile and classic.  And it really is a look for all four seasons!!  Since it's Spring I thought I'd share one way I'm wearing plaid now!!

with white jeans!!

I bought this JCrew Factory plaid popover {similar} last summer on super sale and don't recall wearing it much.  I am making it a point to put it in heavy wardrobe rotation this spring and summer!  And I love these colors with the white jeans!!  Really make the plaid POP!  White isn't just for after Memorial Day and through Labor day anymore!!

We took this one just for fun because I thought it was pretty funny that the colors in my shirt were the same as the tulips!

Shout out to my sister Meghan for taking about 101 photos, just to get two that were suitable for the blog!  I told her she should think about how I feel when I take all the selfies!  HA!

Make sure you stop by The Blended Blog to see the featured lady.  And come on back next week!  It's my TBB feature...a leggings and scarf look! Basically my simple spring staples!

Styling a Graphic Tee

The graphic tee has certainly made a comeback, huh?  Or maybe I've just jumped on the bandwagon the past two years!  Graphic tees are one of my favorite things, to dress down or up!  I wear them pretty often and lately have even gotten away with wearing them to work! It's amazing what a cardi and statement necklace can do! I'm so excited Deena picked a graphic tee for this week's prompt!  Here are some ways I've worn my graphic tees!

 Jesus Loves this Hot Mess

 Loft Love tee
Kindness is Always Stylish

Another Jesus tee...

Come As You Are

I don't know why I don't have a picture of me in this but I wanted to include it because basically it's me....
my mantra!

Before I go, here's a lil recap of last week's looks!!  Loved them all!!

Style Perspectives!

YAY I am so excited for today's Style Perspectives!

A cardi, t, statement necklace and jeans?!?! Done, Done, done and DONE!!  Christy...I feel you on this one!!

Before we get to it here's a recap of last week's Spring Sweater looks!  The lovely Lana's signature look!
I like how some girls had cardigans last week too!  It really is the perfect spring sweater!

I had a co-worker who called me the Queen of Cardis because I wore one to work EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Now I've expanded my wardrobe, but there are still no less than 25 cardis in my closet.  They are just so simple, fun, and fabulous. They can be dressed up, dressed down, mixed and matched, and can be worn throughout all four seasons!  It really is a win-win people!!

Here are some of my more casual cardi looks, with a t, statement necklace and jeans...and clearly in spring the only thing I wear with jeans are my leopard flats!!  HA!

Me for Sunday's Tea Party that my mom throws for her granddaughters and daughters every year. Admittedly, dressed down for the occasion but I thought, Hey some one will be there to take me photo for the blog this week!  LOL...Seriously!

Photo fail Ma...you cut off my feet! LOL

More looks from around the blog!!

this one is super small but I wanted to include it because it's one of my faves!!

I liked that this pic was a little bit different with the gray jeans!  I actually like this combo a lot and thinks it still ok for Spring!

Are you a fan of cardigans with statement necklaces and jeans?  Link up and show us YOUR look.  We are thrilled that the link up keeps growing and growing each week!  Thanks!!  No blog? No problem!!  Just hashtag your look across all social media using #theblendedblogstyle!

Style Perspectives: Spring Sweater and Jeans

The perfect transition look for Spring is today's Style Perspective prompt: The Spring Sweater: with jeans and flats!  Thank you Lana!!  Check out her take on the look here!

I just wish that the Spring temps would stick around.  Winter has made a maddening return this week! Right now I'm in a heavy sweater and scarf, but the looks I have for you today, are that of the spring sweater!  To me, the perfect spring sweater is any lightweight sweater, that I can jazz up.  I always wear something under my sweaters, be it a tank, t-shirt or button down.  As long as I'm comfy that's key!!

These two sweaters are exactly the same, but in different colors.  They are from JCrew Factory, about 2/3 years ago.  But this sweater is their 2016 version of it!  My skinny jeans and leopard flats complete both looks!  Because leopard is a neutral!  HA!

Can't wait to see everyone's Spring Sweater looks!!

Don't forget to link up with us to show us your Spring Sweater looks!  No blog? No problem...just #theblendedblogstyle across all social media platforms!

And before we go, here's a wrap on how all the TBB ladies wore their bright pants! Lovin' it!

Bright Pants!

Happy Style Perspectives Wednesday Ya'll. Last week's patterns and neutrals were a hit with everyone!  Before we get to this week's fun, here's a wrap-up of how each TBB lady interpreted the prompt!  Love everyone's style and how their personality shines through!!

Spring has Sprung and this week's Style Perspectives theme, bright pants is just the perfect prompt. No one's bright pants collection could rival Shaunacey's, that's for sure, (totally jealous!!) but bright pants were just the perfect look for Easter Sunday!!!

I love these blue pants and have had them for about a year but truth be told Sunday was the first day the tags came off!  I think I'll be wearing them a lot more often though!  Got many compliments on them and they were really comfy!

These are Old Navy Pixie Pants!  They come in so many colors and patterns.  I also have them in red and this fun flowery print that I save for summer!!  And since I got mine last year they seemed to have a lot more styles of them as well!  And at super affordable prices, which is good!!

C'mon I couldn't not have a post without a selfie in it could I!?!?  LOL

Such a fun pick!!  Do you do brave the bright pants too!  Link up with us and show us how!!

Style Perspectives: Patterns and Neutrals

Week four of Style Perspectives?  Hard to believe!!  This series has been so much fun!!  Last week's link up was a hit and everyone's interpretations turned out great!  Here's a reminder....

Today over at The Blended Blog, it's Abbie's star turn...showing a neutrals with patterned tops!

For me there was no question when I heard the words neutral and pattern what I would wear.  Most weeks I am showcasing what I'd wear out for fun.  This week I have a wear to work look to share.  This is by no means a new outfit.  In fact, I've had it for many years.  But being a neutral with a classic pattern, I don't think it will ever go out of Style!!

I love it for a number of reasons...

  • It's bright and screams spring to me!
  • I can wear it with or without the cardigan and it will still look great (if I don't say so myself!)
  • And when I bought this outfit, the saleslady at Loft told me, that I did such a great job matching it, that I should work there!  That's always stuck with me!  HA!!

So without further a-do today's perspective...
Paisley Tank with bright cardi and beige trouser pants

a closer look at the top

This is an oldie, but a goodie!!  Can't wait to check out all of today's looks!!  Link up with us too and tag your looks across all social media with #theblendedblogstyle
Check out another neutral/pattern look I tagged on intagram here!

See you next week....in bright pants!!  The perfect spring break accessory!!
