Challenge Recap!

Today is the last Summer Challenge Link Up for the Style Me Bloggers.  The Challenge ended on Sunday, and if you've read any of my previous challenge posts from this summer , then you know what a terrible participant I was this round.  I thought I'd do better once school was out, but truth is...some days I don't even get dressed!!! When I have nothing planned,  I spend the day in my bathing suit when it's nice or leggings and a tank when it's not.  And sadly, lots of days, I've had nothing planned!!  #SolitaryLifeProbs

There was one day last week that I wore a challenge outfit. So here ya go....

This was the Thursday look!  White dress with colorful necklace and metallic sandals. The more I look at it, the more I like this dress!!

And I realized last week, that I didn't show this outfit!  The day called for a maxi dress, but since I was overwearing mine, I opted to do my own thing!  I really liked this look...especially with my favorite item of the whole challenge- the denim vest!! (sorry if I've said that a thousand times!!)

I really did like all the outfits and plan to wear them.  I want to try the white-on-white look that this past Saturday called for one of these days (being 4th of July though I went with a more patriotic look!!) I really didn't wear my boyfriend shorts as much as I wanted to and my lace shorts are just begging to be worn.  So somewhere down the road, you'll see the remainder of the Summer challenge looks!!

Challenge...What Challenge??

As you probably guessed, this week was a total challenge FAIL!  I know I've said this before, but this time I really mean it.  I didn't wear one single challenge outfit this week!!  There was a lot of white pieces, and I just wasn't wearing white this week.  And a lot of times, the weather didn't warrant wearing these outfits. All this weekend it poured rain and didn't get out of the low sixties!  Brrrrr...
I think in August, I'm just gonna start the challenge outfits all over again!!

I had all intentions of getting dressed up in challenge looks and taking photos for today's post, but that didn't happen.  Yesterday was the first day that it was sunny and warm and I could lay out.  So needless to say, I was in my bathing suit ALL DAY!!

I did however wear one challenge outfit this week...but it's one of the same ones I wore last week.  I went to happy hour at an outdoor bar and wore this again!  I thought it was appropriate!  And I'm really excited that this maxi is getting it's comeback after years in the back of my closet.

So with that, for all things challenge this week, I leave you in the very capable hands of my fashionista friends!  Because I know they all rocked it this week!!

Two of those friends are hosting another round of Create28 for July.  Carrie, the creator of Create 28 and Casey, along with Whitney are hosting! You might remember that I participated a bit in the first round in February!  See my recap looks here and more about Create28 here!  I am hoping to do better this time!  I seriously can't even take that today is July 1st!  That's just crazy!!  

But the look for today is a Summer go-to!!  And since I've worn the look above three times already (it's all about who you see, right???) I'm gonna go ahead and name it the Summer 2015 go-to!  I love it....it's so easy to throw on!  And I am loving my denim vest!!  The courage to get and wear the denim vest was worth the price of the challenge!!  HA!!

The Summer Challenge has come to an end!

I kinda failed again this week!!  But I wore some fun outfits regardless!


Thursday I stayed true to the challenge.  This one called for a white t, with a chambray shirt.  I wore a white cami underneath and my chambray shirt buttoned up, because I went out to lunch that day and knew it would be chilly!  This might actually be my fave outfit of the whole challenge!!!

Friday was 4th of July here in the States!!  So I got a little festive...in my Hippie Chick Dress!  (No Longer Available)

Saturday was a maxi skirt day...my fave days!!  BUT I didn't wear it!  I spent the day in the sun and by the pool at my nieces birthday party in my romper, from about a million and a half years ago.  But they're still in, right?!?  I did want to highlight one of my favorite looks from the spring challenge here. This is what I would have worn, if I had packed it (I spent the weekend at my parents, so didn't have the challenge outfits!)  My sister was rockin' her maxi skirt at the party though...and actually, she wore the challenge outfit on the 4th too!! GO TARA!!

Sunday, the final day of the challenge was a PALAZZO PANTS day!!  YAY!!!  But being the bad blogger I am, after this crazy weekend, I forgot to take a pic in them!!  I'll wear them again this week and feature them next week!!  I kinda love them!!  And I thought about getting dressed again to take a photo but I am just too lazy for that right now!!  HA!!

Had so much fun with this challenge!  The time flew by.  There's so much time left in summer, challengers are opting to go another round!!  I'm gonna mix it up a bit and wear the outfits I didn't!

Getting down to the wire...

Hard to believe it's almost the end of the Summer Challenge!  My summer has only just begun.  Five more outfits to go!  Alison made a good point to the challengers though!  She said to start the outfits over again to get us through the rest of the summer!  I'm totally going to do that...mixing it up a bit and wearing the few outfits I didn't this time around!

I'll admit, I wasn't as faithful to the challenge this week!  My cousin was here visiting for a few days, I'm on summer vacation, and I've spent most my time in one of these...

But here's what I managed to pull together!

Wednesday was Day 10 of the challenge and also my first day of no school for SUMMER VACATION!!  WOO to the HOO!!!  So while I didn't have a work wear and day wear to pull together, I did have two variations on the outfit because I spent the day at home in shorts and switched it up with pink skinny jeans for going out to dinner that night on the water where I knew it'd be chilly!

Striped t, bright shorts, metallic sandals, statement earrings (which I have been swapping for statement necklaces...I just always tend to keep my studs in!)

Thursday called for a bright t, printed shorts, sneaks, and a fedora.  I mixed it up with my tank and sandals instead!  Ladies...go get {these}sandals!!!  TEN BUCKS!!!!!!

Saturday called for Palazzos!!  WHOOP WHOOP!!  They're kinda my new fave!!  The challenge had us wearing a white t with this but I saw Melissa wearing this exact outfit last week and loved it...so I copied it!

Sunday was a maxi dress day!!

 

In all honesty...this was a Sunday, just not THIS SUNDAY!  HA!  Wore this on Father's Day!  Sunday's outfit was the example outfit we got ahead of the challenge!

This was really my Sunday!

It was the first Sunday in forever that I had NO PLANS AT ALL!  So I laid out a bit then vegged on my couch, binge watching shows on demand.  And I was totally OK with it!!

Tuesday: Another maxi skirt day!  YAY!  Perfect outfit to wear to GNO to celebrate my sister's birthday!

WIWW: GYPO Summer challenge! Days 3-9

I had all intentions of loading my photos on the blog as I went this past week so that this post didn't become such a blur to me!  But of course that didn't happen (the last few days of school kinda got in the way!) and now I'm scoping through all these selfies trying to remember what day is what!  I am really loving the Summer Challenge though and am so excited EVERYTHING has come from my CLOSET!!  WOO HOO!!

Wednesday, June 18th- Day 3

Mixed up the work-wear version and the challenge outfit to create my own version...this!

Striped top (AE),  cropped khakis (LOFT), statement necklace (Piper Street), and metallic sandals (Target)

Thursday, June 19th-Day 4: Playing with Print!  

Loved both my work and play outfits this day!

Work: I have had these pants forever (from The Limited) and LOVE them!  I was so happy to be able to wear them for the challenge! Rather than the bright tank the challenge called for (and because I need to wear a sleeve to work!) I went with this old top from LOFT.  The tee had that necklace like thingy attached!!

After work, I wore this (posted this to the page)...closer to the challenge!

Friday, June 20th- Day 5

Friday called for a printed top.  I wore my top from hippie chick boutique (sold out) and a pair of old LOFT ankle pants, that were a pretty perfect match!  My bauble bar rope necklace completed the look!

On Saturday (Day 6), my best friend's baby girl was baptized, so I wore a dress and am saving Saturday's challenge outfit for another day!!

On Sunday (Day 7), I went full on challenge mode!!  And it was a MAXI SKIRT day!  YAY!!  I was at my sister's pool for the day. She's also doing the challenge with me!  This is what we wore...

Monday was day 8 and  began week 2 of the challenge!  Time is flying! The outfit was super simple, with just a white top, denim shorts, and sneaks!  

For work, I switched it up like this...

It was a dress down day for the students and teachers so I wore jeans and sandals and added the infinity scarf (target) for a pop of color!

When I got home, I threw on jean shorts, the bright cardi and my cons...just what the challenge called for!

 My fellow challengers are  liking that I post both the work and "play" option!  But now that I am officially on Summer VACATION, I can't promise that will happen everyday!!  HA!!

Tuesday, June 24th-Day 9, saw us wearing a tribal/printed top and khakis.  I didn't wear it...saving for another day!  I opted for a printed maxi skirt instead!

Let the Summer Challenge Begin!

I'm back at it!  On Monday the Style Me Summer Challenge with Alison at Get Your Pretty On began!  I am so excited that this time around me sister and best friend decided to join in on the fun!!  I've also decided to link up with fellow bloggers doing the challenge as well. This time there are 15 of us participating!  YAY for new blogs!  I don't know about you, but I LOVE finding new blogs to read!!

My take on Monday's Outfit- Day One

This time around, there is a work wear option for each day!  On the left, you'll see my work wear version.  Loft cropped pants (old) and lace tank (sold out) with nude flats.  On the right was the more exact challenge outfit...bright shorts, white t and metallic sandals!  The bag is an added bonus this time also!  Mine was a freebie years ago from Victoria Secret.  (YES, I am a sucker!!  LOL)  The challenge also called for statement earrings too but I don't change my earrings so much so I went with the statement necklace instead. {stella&dot}

Tuesday's Outfit- Day Two (Let's just call today a fashion show!!)

I didn't wear this to work but did so afterwards...perhaps only to take blog pics!!  HA!

But I kinda love how simple and easy it was!  And can I just say how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my cons?!?! Cuz it's like a lot, a lot!!
