Holiday Looks!

Wednesday!  Woo Hoo!!  This week has seemed like the longest, huh?  Or maybe that's just me!!  Ugh!

It's been forever and a day since I've posted anything fashion related to the blog, but today I'm giving it another shot!!
As I sit down to write this post, I'm realizing Holiday Looks probably means Christmas.  But Me being Me is going to save all those for the December Prompts!  So today I'm showing showing my love for Small Business and sharing my Friendsgiving and Thanksgiving looks that show off tops I purchased at a local boutique.

This Saturday I was on the couch sick with a sore throat and cold, so I unfortunately I didn't shop Small Business Saturday like I usually do.  Then my mom reminded me of something, I very rarely leave my town so...I Shop Small all the Time!!  I gathered she was right, so I felt a bit better!

I love this little shop in town called Say More Boutique, and when they recently had a Sip and Shop Sale event at the store, I attended.

If you read my post yesterday you may remember that I don't really shop without a purpose.  If I get something, I have a specific place or event I'm going to wear it too. I went shopping that night wanting to find something to wear for both my Friendsgiving celebration and Thanksgiving day with my family.   I succeeded!

I shopped and shopped...and shopped some more!  I may have shopped way more than I thought I was going to, but the store has such cute stuff and who doesn't like snacks and drinks while you shop!?!?  I've gotten pretty friendly with the owner too, so I like supporting her and women in business doing great things in my town!  You can shop her boutique online too, here!

This first look I wore for the Friendsgiving that I hosted here at my house!  Loved the colors of this easy, breezy top and thought it was really a different spin on the animal print top. While it's not really heavy or wintery at all, it worked because with the turkey baking for hours in my small house, I was still comfy.  And to be honest, I'm thinking this could really be an "every season" kinda top!

I really like that the animal print is subtle!

Here I paired the top with the Express Faux Leather Leggings!

Since I really wasn't the one cooking or hosting for Thanksgiving, I went bold with this top.  It's huge sleeves were super fun and I loved the high neck of it.  I have a lot of mock neck tops these days.  The Fall color was perfect too. I thought this whole look was very Thanksgiving worthy actually!!  (Even though our temps were in the low 20's and I could've been wearing a winter parka!!)  We just did not get enough of a Fall in my opinion, so I'll squeak out every last bit of it, even if it's in my outfits...lol

The ruffle sleeves are big! But I really liked that they're different...and pretty damn fabulous!!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!  And looks forward to the upcoming craziness that December brings!!  There's hope for me yet, posting on Wednesdays thanks to my bestie and blog photog, Mel!

Link up with The Blended Blog every Wednesday in December too, with these fun and festive prompts!!

My "Skater" Look!?!?

Wednesday already!?!?  Great for those in the working world, not great for teachers like me who are wishing summer would please stay!!

Today calls for a fun look! I'm calling my skater look! LOL

We have this new taco place in town (you might have seen it on my instagram page!)  that has a very California vibe and for some reason, on their TV's they always have skater videos on.  Ya know, like skateboarders doing tricks and flips.  At first I thought it was weird, but now when I'm there I find myself watching them.  The last time I was there, I wore this outfit and for some reason I think it's skater-y!

Love, love love the split back on this top!!

Skater-ish?  What do you think??  Let me know in the comments below!!

What are you wearing today!?  Whatever it is I hope it makes you feel fabulous!

New summer favorite!

This top's from Canada, Eh!

Love, love, love this white top!  It's on heavy repeat!  I bought it back in May on my trip to Toronto with the ladies of The Blended Blog.  When we shopped, I picked things up from stores we don't have here in the States.  This one's from R.W. and Co.  It's so super cute, and I get so many compliments every single  time I wear it!!

Love the lace sleeves and even the back detailing is cute...wish I had a pic!

I paired it here with my orange go-to's from JCrew Factory {similar here}, but it looks great with any color really, prints, etc...I'd even do white on white!

Now that I'm looking at it, I realized why I paired it with orange...maybe to match the glasses?!?  I've have been reaching for the color orange so much this summer...now I think I know why!!  LOL

What are you wearing that you just love this week?  Let me know in the comments below!  And link up your style posts with us over at The Blended Blog!

Summer's for Showing Off My Shoulders

Happy Wednesday Friends

The SUMMER is FLYING by!!  Boo!
Some days I've done nothing, and other days I've gotten dressed up and gone out with friends!  Today's tops are perfect for these increasingly hot days and give me a chance to show off my shoulders...with some fun details, too!

I got this top at a local shop, Say More Boutique,  that is quickly becoming a fave!  I like the blushy/peachy color, cold shoulder style, and ruffle deets!!  I've worn this with white jeans and jean shorts too!

This next top I found on a whim (and on sale) at Macy's.  I like the gingham for summer and cute bow detail...that needs to be tied.

Last but not least, an off the shoulder....I thought I'd try the trend!

This is a Gray Monroe top.  It's no longer available but there are so many more cute things!  And so much is on sale!  Shop now here!

Are you showing off your shoulders this summer??  I'd love to hear about it in the comments!  Have a wonderful day!  Stay cool and look fashionable!  And link up with me and the rest of The Blended Blog to show us what you're wearing BELOW!  No blog?  No Problem!  Show us your looks on social Media!  #TheBlendedBlogStyle #tbbstyle

Summer in Full Bloom!

You Guys!!!  I am so excited about today's post!!  Because my blog pics are so good!!  They're like finally like REAL blog pics!!  It's all thanks to my photographer bestie, Mel!  Mel's big hobby is photography and she is GREAT at it!  So I was really excited, when, on a whim, I asked her to take some blog photos for me, and she agreed.  And did she ever...I think she was more excited about it than I was at the time!! She was super prepared, had great ideas and, obsessed over flatlays!! THANKS MEL!!

Today I'm sharing two looks that I keep grabbing out of my closet this summer. (It's about who you see, right?!?) I'm on a floral kick right now...

A new favorite for SURE!!

So, so so excited to share my Fall Favorite Find for The Blended Blog's link up, because seriously, I got it two days ago and have been living in it and already have a half dozen other places I plan on wearing it this November.  A few week's back I shared my love for Gray Monroe with this post!.  And I am so happy to tell you that this is a Gray Monroe find as well!!  I just LOVE it!  It's sweater- poncho-y fabulousness!!

The windows in my library (because yes, I actually had a teacher friend take my photo!  HA!) picked up most of the light, so this is not a great photo and does not do the sweater the justice it deserves, but it's a start.  Find a better pic and the link to all the sweater's details here.

This was my picture day outfit!  featuring booties I mentioned in last week's style post!  I got so many compliments on this look!  Kinda makes a blah Tuesday better!!

Can't wait to see all the other looks in today's link up!  And if you like what you see and want to give Gray Monroe a try, shop my affiliate link here!  Let me know what you think!!

Now get to linkin' ladies!!  :)  Head on over to The Blended Blog to link up with us today!!

Have a great Wednesday...have fun and look fabulous!

November Style Series Series with TBB!

Happy November Ya'll!  Hard to believe that the year is coming to a close!  The month of November is always a fun one!  It's really the kick off to the end of year festivities.  With that in mind, I'm joining my friends at The Blended Blog and linking up for our November Style Series, highlighting our favorite fall fashion finds!  This fall, for me, it's definitely BOOTIES!!  I love the ones that are fun, lower healed (because I can actually walk in them!), and love that they can be dressed up or down!!  I tried the trend a little bit last fall with these wine-colored stunners, but truth be told, being the color they were I didn't get much use out of them.
I have to find more to wear them with!  Or be bolder I suppose!!

These past few weeks I've loaded up on a few pairs I know I'll get a ton of use out of!

This perforated pair are my new faves.  Love the color and the slouch in the front!
Get a closer look at them here!

I thought these booties with the zipper detail were a lot of fun too, so naturally I bought them!!
Get a closer look at them here!

And these!!  These are so super cute....and I am not ashamed to admit I got them at PAYLESS!!  LOL  Comfy and go with so much!!  And after writing this post, I might've got these in black too!  HA!

I always say that I never buy anything unless I have an idea of where I can wear it, thus justifying my purchases! After getting those booties last fall and not wearing them much I got all of these knowing what I would wear them with, so in the coming weeks I hope to showcase them more on the blog with some more of my favorite fall finds!!  So stay tuned!!

Link up you favorite fall fashions with us today!!

Fall's my favorite time for Vests!

The Blended Blog's fashion link up each week is so much fun!  This month we are doing something a little bit different and blog hoppin' to each other's pages with a favorite fall piece we like to wear.  So if your visiting from Deena's blog, you know how smashing she looked and I thank you for stopping by for a visit!!  When my TBB buddy came up with this idea, I immediately jumped on vests/jackets prompt.  Because, quite simply vests are my favorite.  I have about 10 of them!

Today I am showing you just a few of my faves!  Vests are so perfect for Fall.

This vest is my absolute fave.  I got it two Fall's ago on Erika's recommendation and I I wear it ALL THE TIME in the fall.  This combo is one of my favorite ways to wear it!

I have a number of vests form JCrew Factory.  They are light...which is perfect for Fall days when the night's turn chilly.  And they come in a bunch of fun colors!  I even have some in the kid's sizes!  HA!

I know this red vest is mostly covered with my blanket scarf but I just love it, so I wanted to include it!

Here's another fave JCrew Vest.  I've been trying my hand at Flat-Lays lately.  Clearly I need work!
I think this one is a CrewCuts!  LOL And I'm not gonna lie...I am liking this year's colors!!!

I also love this vest.  I have a similar one.  I just wore it on Saturday!  This isn't the best picture of the vest but it's a close up of the pattern!

One vest that is on my wish list is a military vest.  If any one wants to recommend one, I'd love hear it.  I've seen them all over the blogs and they are so fun, cute and scream FALL!  I NEEEEEED one!!

Head on over to Whitney's blog to see how fabulously she styles her fall vest!  And don't forget to link up your fashion posts with us!!

Have a wonderful Wednesday...have fun and look fabulous!!

Gray Monroe Style

When blogger Jenny Collier started her Gray Monroe shop, I browsed, followed her on FB and Instagram and always envied all the clothing she had available for purchase.  This summer, I had the time to actually shop the site, so I did!!  I scored an awesome cold shoulder top for the fall...that had sold out so quickly, I had to wait for the reorder!  Then I was emailed about the End of Summer Sale and got a few fun tops at a great deal!!  It was like the sale on sale!!

I had been eyeing this super fun tank for summer for awhile!  When it went on sale and they still had my size as took that as a sign that I HAD to have it!  Check it out here...still on final sale!!

Love this tank too!  I wore it this summer with so many colors of my go-to shorts!

I plan on taking this tank into fall with me, wearing it with my military jacket, denim jacket, and cardigan sweaters. I also plan on wearing it now with my olive jeans!

This cold shoulder top I scored on sale too!  It's the perfect top to wear with leggings or skinny jeans and sandals nowt and riding boots later on!! {Super similar here!}

I knew this top had to be mine as soon as I saw it! it's my most recent purchase and I can't wait to wear it all fall long I am still so into the layered look, and I love that it looks layered yet I don't have to be bundled up! I just know it's going to be on repeat this Fall!

Try Gray Monroe for yourself!  They are always rolling out new arrivals and have great deals and sales!!  I like supporting small businesses, especially when they sell clothes, accessories, and shoes!!  HA!!

Have a Happy Wednesday and don't forget to link up your fashion posts below!!!  And get on over to The Blended Blog for Day Three of our Bloviversary celebration!!!  There's $150 up for grabs!!

I've signed up to be a Gray Monroe affiliate because I love the brand!  All opinions are my own!

Back to School Look!

Summer's over and it's officially back to school time!  It's also the start of The Blended Blog's Fall What I Wore Link-up!  Be sure to keep linking up what you're wearing with us each week!!

Speaking of The Blended Blog,  last week when I posted my Back to School Survival Guide for Teachers on TBB, one of the things I said was essential during this hectic time was treating yourself!  And by this I meantt, to something new for the first day of school.  Read my post here!

For me I always treat myself to a new "first day" outfit!  Since yesterday was the first day, I thought today I'd share what I wore....

I put this dress on  for the first time, yesterday morning, after having it just hanging in my closet for the last few weeks.  I purchased it during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  When I slipped it on, I immediately regretted not getting it in EVERY SINGLE COLOR!  I love this!  So easy to wear...seriously...effortless and IT HAS POCKETS!  I received so many compliments on this and couldn't wait to tell every one I scored it for less than 25 bucks!  I'm going to be wearing this dress all fall!!  With riding boots, with my military jacket, with my denim jacket...oh the possibilities!

And guess what!  It's still on sale!  Get yours here!!

Wish I could tell you about the shoes, but I found them buried in my closet, and have no recollection where I got them.  But they are wedges, and I can walk in them!  Woohoo!!  LOL

What have you been wearing lately!  Link up with us and let us see!  Happy Hump Day!!

What I Wore...on Vacation!

I have yet to recap my trip to the Dominican Republic...but it's coming SOON!!  Today being Wednesday I thought I'd link up with my The Blended Blog friends for our Pick, Pair, Showcase Summer Fashion Series!

I had my friend Kerri take pictures of every outfit I wore every night because I knew I wanted to showcase them on the blog.  And I'm so glad she did, because it so helped me out when I had to put a claim in for my stolen belongings! HA!!

Of course being on vacation, I brought away some of my favorites with me!!  Some of these I've showcased on Insta since I've been home and playing along with TBB and #theblendedblogstyle!

So in no particular order...my vacation wardrobe!!

So sad I'll never see this outfit again!!  It was one of the things that was taken from my suitcase.  Surprisingly and luckily I suppose, I have the rest!!  Minus the belt above and any of the undergarmets I'm wearing....LOL

This was one of my pool day outfits!  I bought this fun tank for the trip (because where else am I gonna wear it!!)  and was so glad to see it was still in my suitcase!!

And a shout out to my photog Kerri, who may have laughed every time I wanted my picture taken for the blog, but then jumped on the bandwagon, obviously!!
  HA!  Thanks Ker!!

It was fun to get back into this fashion thing!!  Go link up your Wednesday Fashion Posts over at The Blended Blog too! Have a great day!!
