What's On....

Today on Andrea's blog it's Manda Monday!  Please hop on over to read all about Andrea's sweet friend, Manda and how you can help join her in fighting against her battle with cancer! #MANDASTRONG

Linking up with Andrea again for her What's On series!  This month it's What's On...Your Feet!!

Currently, I'm sporting this awful thing!!!
It is not the cute boots I imagined spending time in, that's for sure! But once this is off, these shoes will be in heavy rotation this Fall...and Winter!!  I kinda went bootie crazy!!

famousfootwear.com
These are the bootie version of my fave boots from last Fall.  The boots are sold out not but they're selling a "this year's version" pretty similar!  Check them all out here!

These are my newest pair of booties!  Haven't worn them yet, but they were pretty comfy when I tried them on!! And the wedge is not too skinny (these legs can't handle that!)

These are cool, low, and edgy!  And I scored them at a super price!!

This last pair was a stretch for me, but I scored them at Payless at a good price so I picked them up!  Will be fun to wear for a GNO!!

I'll also still be getting lots of use out of the few pairs of riding boots I have too!!  I just love boots/booties with skinny jeans in the FALL!!  Can't wait to see what's on your feet!

Have a great week!

What's on...My Wishlist!

Linking up with Andrea @ Momfessionals for another edition of her WHAT'S ON... Series

What's not on my wishlist!  HAHAHAHA!!  Just kidding!!  It's kinda a short list actually!

I got a pretty good life going here!  But who couldn't use some more money to live a bit more comfortably and have a little bit more FUN?
I wish I had more money to travel...both the world and here in the U.S. Goodness gracious, why are plane tickets so bloody expensive?? Ideally, I want to visit each state!  I've never even been to Texas ya'll!!!!  Home to some of my favorite bloggers!  I'd also like to visit Seattle, Utah, see a concert at the Red Rocks in Colorado and visit all those fly over state Jason Aldean sings about!! And of course, Hawaii and Alaska are on the Bucket List as well :)

And I've been on many a cruise but would like to visit other tropical places like Tahiti, Bora Bora, Costa Rica, and the Maldives, for more then a few hours at a time.  I would love to go there and relax in the sun, sand, and clear blue water!  Clearly, I've been watching the Bachelor too long!  New Zealand, Australia, and Ireland are high on the list too. I had the chance to go to Ireland in college and it ended up falling through...sad I haven't made it there yet! London would be awesome too!!

Unfortunately, I know I'll never make it EVERYWHERE, but it sure is fun to WISH!!

And just for fun, I've included this....

Can't wait to read everyone else's wishes!!

Katie

Linking up for Pin-spired today too!  Check out how I used Pinterest to recreate an outfit I wore to a concert recently HERE!

What's On....My Menu!

Well this is a Solitary Life post if there ever was one!!!!

I'm gonna be honest here....there's not much on my menu!!!  LOL...but I haven't missed one of Andrea's What's on...link-ups and I didn't want to start now. {Living this Solitary Life I do}, I kinda don't cook too often for myself. I don't like it.  By the time you prep everything and make it, and cook it...when it's done, I just don't want it anymore!  I suppose it would be different if I was cooking for someone...my family or husband (chefs please apply!) perhaps, but I'm not!  I have a million dishes pinned and a box full of recipes that I want to try....some day!! Just not today!!  That is not to say that I DON'T eat....because I do.  These are three staples currently in rotation on my menu!!

Salsa Chicken- This is sooooo easy!!!  Here's proof....I put this recipe in a cookbook my school sold as a fundraiser years ago!  HA!
And I can cook a single piece of chicken just for me.  Everything gets tucked in a foil packet too, so clean-up's a breeze!!

Here's the recipe:
Place chicken breast in the middle of a piece of foil. Coat with a tablespoonful of salsa and a spoonful of mexi-corn (or just corn's ok too!) Wrap chicken up in foil, making a breathable packet.  Place in 450* oven for 18-22 minutes, depending on the thickness of your chicken). Remove from oven and carefully open the packet.  Sprinkle shredded cheese (mexican blend, or your fave) on top of the chicken, closing packet to let it melt for a few minutes before plating (don't return to oven). Serve with tortilla chips and/or rice.

Salmon
Another thing I place in a foil packet and cook!  I've only been doing this recently but it comes out really good.  I throw it on the foil, coat it with a Balsamic dressing with honey I found, add a teaspoon of garlic, and bake it for 15 minutes on 425*

Quesadillas
I make these with my queasdilla maker.  So easy, so quick!!

This pic was actually one I used for Andrea and Erika's Instagram challenges in May!  And no I do not drink margaritas every time I make quesadillas!!  =)

And sometimes, I might just eat a bowl of cereal or a peanut butter sandwich for dinner! And that's fine with me!! Or I eat out...which this summer has been happening more often then not.  And that can get expensive, but I always take leftovers home, which then helps me believe I'm getting my money's worth!!

I can't wait to see what everyone else has linked up!!  Hoping I can find a few things to add to this very short list!!

See previous What's On... posts here!

Have a great week!!

On My Walls!

Linking up with Andrea once again for What's On...
Today it's What's on My Walls!
I still have lots of free space on on the walls here at the new place but I do have some things to show!  When you walk in, it's basically all one room.  And the yellow paint on EVERY.SINGLE.WALL. is the builders paint!  One of these years, I'll paint it the way I want...but for now I'm fine with it!

Great Room and Kitchen:

This picture was actually my sister's first.  When she was staying with me for awhile, we put it up, and it just never came down.  LOL...I've always loved this!!  It's on the wall in my great room...pretty much over the kitchen table.  Maybe more across from it!

This was from my parents, when I first moved into my apartment.  it's metal and so bright and fun! It's over my wine table.

This clock was another gift for my apartment...from my oldest sister.

My mom made this!  It's my favorite!!

This should be on the wall...but it's not yet!  It's on a tall shelf for now.  It'll put it up eventually.

And FINALLY my TV's on the wall....WOOHOO!!

This is another thing that should be hanging, but's not yet.  It on my counter and the more I keep it here, the more I like it...so maybe I'll keep it here.  It was a gift from my sister! #momssoproud

This tiny little print is above my kitchen sink!  I bought it at at Kohls when I moved into my apartment.

This...
is covering this...
and it's pretty perfect!  THANKS MOM!

On to my bedroom...

This hangs above my bed

This canvas I got for my birthday from my twin nieces (clearly when my sister and the girls were staying with me they couldn't handle my bare walls!  HA!)  I really love it. And it's a perfect match.

This was another birthday gift.  It was a great surprise!  It's really inspirational and I read it every morning.  It hangs above my night stand.
I blogged about this {here} when I first got it and there's a link to read it!

That was lots of fun!  See you all next month for What's on...my menu!  EEEEKKKK I better start thinking about that one now!

Have a great week!

What's on...My Nightstand!

I know this is my second post of the day...but I'm not missing this!!
It's another What's On... Link-up with {Andrea} at Momfessionals. YAY!

My nightstand is pretty tiny so there's not room for much!

The staples....

My lamp and telephone!  The lamp is really there so that at night I don't have to get back up to shut off the big light!  Ha!  And is there for when I read!  And the telephone is there, right next to my head, in case of emergencies.  Cause if it rang in the middle of the night, I'd know for sure there was a problem!  One person has my land line number, and that's my mom!

My Gratitude Journal: I got the idea for a gratitude journal from this post {Shay} did over at {Every Day Cheer} and I've been keeping one this year!

I also have a blog book that I use to write blog post ideas on, link-ups and names of new blogs I've discovered!  I don't open this one everyday but I like knowing  that it's close when I need it!

My iPad...it's sitting there right now, but honestly is dead.  Ever since I got my iPhone, I use that much more!

Cream, a nail file, and my watch...

Last but not least...the little elephant my mom gave me when I moved out! So I "never forget" where I came from!

Usually I have a stack of books too, but I just returned them to the library! :)

Have a great week everyone!
Katie

What's On...My DVR

Linking up today with Andrea @ Momfessionals for a brand new Link-up she's started...WHAT'S ON! Each Month, the rest of the year, will be dedicated to one specific prompt!  The first one is What's On...your DVR!  Living the solitary life I do, this is so very PERFECT for me!! Most nights it's just me, my wine, and my DVR!!!

These are the shows that are on my DVR's Season Pass:

Daily:
General Hospital: Yes, I still watch this...and have been religiously since I've about the age of 10! (And when SoapNet was on, I may have spent a weekend watching an entire batch of old school Luke and Laura episodes!) I DVR it everyday and  won't watch every episode during the week, but sometimes feel like I can get through about a week's worth of shows in about an hour!  I'll scan through a lot...and some days are better than others!

The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon: If you have been following my blog for a while, you know my LOVE for Jimmy Fallon runs deep!  He just makes me smile!  I love the hashtag Wednesdays, Thank You Note Fridays, all the games he plays, and everything in between!  And really... he has Springsteen Weeks and Justin Timberweek...C'mon!!!!

Weekly:
Parenthood: One of the BEST shows ever!!!!  You need to watch this!  I laugh every week and I cry every week!  It's just so real and I love it!!

Grey's Anatomy/Scandal: I am clumping these two together because THEY ARE THURSDAY NIGHTS FOR ME!  I DVR them and start them a little late so I'm able to fast forward through the commercials and still end at 11!  Some weeks, I even invite my sisters and friends over for Grey's Nights, that extend into Scandal!  And yes, those nights I'm drinking my wine from my Crate and Barrel Olivia Pope glasses!  HA!!!

Blue Bloods: Another show I absolutely love!!  I'm not ashamed to admit that most Friday nights I'm in bed earlier than any other night of the week!  I guess by Friday, I'm just shot!!  Happiness to me on a Friday is: being wrapped up in my blardigan, with a glass of wine in hand and watching the Reagans!!

Chicago Fire: Love this show...and all the cute Firemen!

Chicago PD: I didn't like it at first but it very quickly grew on me...I still save it for the weekend to watch though!!

Law & Order SVU: (Or as my mom will forever call it- SUV!) This is a show I have seen every SINGLE episode of from the very beginning.  And I will admit, when Christopher Meloni left, I wasn't sure it was going to last much longer...but it has and only keeps getting better!  This season has been INSANE!!  It's actually another show I'll save for the weekend...because I'd rather watch in the daylight!

Suits: I really like USA originals, and this one is my fave!  Such a crazy concept...but totally works! And I love the dynamic of all the characters!  And again...the hot guys DO NOT HURT!!

Some shows on my DVR that I am super behind on:
I have three episodes of Pretty Little Liars that need to be finished.
I'm two episodes behind on Nashville.
And I have all the episodes of the new show Crisis that I have yet to watch!  But I've heard it's really good!  So one of these weekends I'll get a round to it!

I also have a Hallmark Channel Original Movie from Christmastime saved on my DVR.  It 's called Finding Christmas and was so super cute...I watched it about 87 times.  I think I love it so much because it was kind of like one of my absolute favorite movies, The Holiday!

Eeeekkkk...reading this back, it's fairly evident why I'm still living this single, solitary life, huh??  But this was fun...I can't wait until next month!

Have a great rest of the week!  Come back Wednesday for a Spring Style Me Challenge Link-Up I'm doing with some fellow bloggers in the group!  Today was the first day of the challenge and I gotta say...I am LOVING it!!
